Don't Be Ignorant

Most people stuck in the same struggle assume the problem is that they are weak. This message makes a different case: you are not outmatched, you are uninformed, and there is a real difference between the two.

Opening a new series called Attacks, guest preacher Pastor Darlene builds the whole message on a single line from 2 Corinthians 2:11 — that we are not to be ignorant of the enemy's devices. Drawing on years as a United States Army officer, Pastor Darlene walks through seven strategies lifted straight out of military doctrine and names where each one turns up in an ordinary life: intelligence wins wars, the surprise attack, psychological warfare, divide and conquer, cutting the supply lines, wearing the opponent down, and holding the high ground.

From there it gets uncomfortably practical. Why isolation is a tactic and not just a mood. Why the things you say out loud when you are angry can give away your position. Why the enemy studies your patterns — what offends you, what tempts you, when you are tired — more carefully than you study your own. Why a soldier's armor covers the front and not the back. And why the whole posture changes once you understand that you fight from victory rather than for it. The message ends with a personal testimony about a season of despair, an altar call that almost did not happen, and an open invitation.
